Abstract

This research examines the phenomenon of the role of interpersonal communication between fans and idols. The aim is to understand how interpersonal communication and parasocial interactions between fans and idols can fulfill the need for social relationships and to find out how the interpersonal communication process occurs between fans and their idols. Using qualitative methods with a descriptive approach, this research involved five informants through interviews. The results show that openness, empathy, support, positive attitudes and equality work hand in hand in creating an effective communication space. This interaction has a positive impact on fans' social lives.
