Abstract
This research aims to discuss the Dynamics of Intrapersonal Communication in Fatherless Girls experiencing Struggles with intrapersonal communication theory. The method used is descriptive qualitative with the use of primary and secondary data. The sampling technique was conducted using purposive sampling. The researcher used five stages of data analysis according to Colaizzi and Moustakas, namely the initial stage, horizontal stage, meaning clustering stage, essence description stage, and reporting the research results.In this context, the dynamics of self-defense become an important part of the struggle for fatherless daughters. According to Sigmund Freud's view in Personality Theory, defense mechanisms are built within the human mind to reduce anxiety. Fear functions as a reminder reaction to approaching threats, forming adaptive responses to face difficult situations. With a sufficient understanding of intrapersonal communication, the informants are able to develop good intrapersonal communication patterns, resulting in effective self-defense mechanisms in facing their life challenges. The method used is descriptive qualitative with the use of primary and secondary data. The sampling technique was conducted using purposive sampling. The researcher used five stages of data analysis according to Colaizzi and Moustakas, namely the initial stage, horizontal stage, meaning grouping stage, essence description stage, and reporting the research results. The final results of this study show that the understanding related to Fatherless is not much different among each individual fatherless daughter who has the same background. in this study focuses on Fatherless in the category of Unreliable Father, the significant impact of fatherlessness on each individual fatherless daughter with the same background also has similarities such as feelings of inferiority or lack of self-confidence and inability to make decisions. However, each individual still has different impacts of being fatherless. With an understanding that can be considered quite related to intrapersonal communication, the informants are able to have good intrapersonal communication patterns that will later result in good defense mechanisms when they have to face or go through struggles in their lives.
