Abstract
This study aims to analyze the political strategy implemented by the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) in its efforts to increase its vote share in the 2024 Legislative Elections. Using a qualitative method and descriptive technique, this research delves into a comprehensive understanding of the strategic steps taken by PSI, particularly in gaining support from the young voter segment. As a relatively new political party, PSI focuses on progressive issues such as human rights and innovation, while leveraging social media as a primary tool for their campaigns. This study also includes an analysis of the changes in the party's vision and mission, as well as responses from various stakeholders involved in Indonesia's political dynamics, creating a holistic framework to understand the context. The findings reveal that the mixed strategy of both defensive and offensive approaches employed by PSI has successfully increased its electability and vote count in the 2024 elections. PSI strives to promise change by advocating for the continuation of President Joko Widodo’s policies toward a better future and empowering the younger generation through programs that address the current political and social challenges. Overall, this study illustrates that the combination of offensive and defensive strategies has proven effective in attracting new voters while maintaining the support of the existing base. The offensive approach offers innovative appeal, while the defensive strategy ensures the sustainability of existing support. By combining both approaches, PSI has seen a significant increase in votes in the 2024 Legislative Elections, although it did not reach the parliamentary threshold.
