Abstract

This research aims to find out the framing by Tempo in its reporting regarding the 10 years of Jokowi's leadership in the government which highlights problems in all Nawacita priority sectors, Jokowi's big vision and mission at the beginning of his term of presidential. This research uses framing theory by Robert Entman and Erving Goffman to discover how Tempo's background as a media influences the framing carried out, including the selection and highlighting of issues. This research uses mass communication, news, and the Nawacita Program as concepts to determine the relationship between the analysis results and these three concepts. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative research method with observation and documentation data collection techniques and a data analysis technique in the form of Robert Entman's framing analysis model. The results of this research show that Tempo, in its reporting, highlights issues and selects issues by defining problems, explaining the causes of problems, making moral assessments, and providing suggestions for solving problems which emphasize that the Jokowi government has not succeeded in realizing the Nawacita program and has caused problems in every sector. Tempo highlighted issues regarding failures and problems that occurred and did not include Jokowi's successes over the last 10 years. Even so, the results of this research conclude that Tempo's reporting remains balanced and does not intend to bring down any party. On the other hand, Tempo in its reporting tried to raise public sensitivity to the problems that were still occurring when the Jokowi government's term of office had ended
