Abstract

Background: Posture is an important thing to consider, especially as children grow. Childhood is an important period in bone growth and density. Forward Head Posture (FHP) is reported to be the most common posture problem, especially in school-age children. FHP is described as the position of the head that advances forward from the midpoint parallel to the shoulder with a Cranio-Vetebral Angle (CVA) of less than 50°. Research Objective: To find out the description of the incidence of forward head posture in grade 5 students at SDN Limo 2 Depok City. Research Method: Quantitative descriptive research with data collection techniques using measurements. Grade 5 students at SDN as many as 88 students with an age range of 10-12 years were measured using a goniometer to find out the degree of CVA. Results: FHP was found in 45 students (51.1%) with the highest distribution in students who were 11 years old (36.4%), female (31.8%), with normal BMI category (33%), had addiction to smartphones (29.5%) and had a very good dynamic balance (34.1%). Conclusion: The majority of 5th grade students at SDN Limo 2 Depok City have a CVA degree of less than 50° based on the characteristics of age, gender, BMI, addiction to smartphones and dynamic balance.
