Abstract
Background: Children with cerebral palsy might face physical, emotional, and social difficulties that affect their perception of their health, well-being, and functionality in daily activities. It is a crucial indication for understanding their requirements and evaluating the success of program designed to best assist their development. Research purpose: The purpose of this study is to describe the quality of life level of children with cerebral palsy in terms of gender, age, type of cerebral palsy, gross motor function level, functional independence level, and spasticity level at SLB-D YPAC Jakarta. Research Methods: A descriptive quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design was used. A total of 62 children with cerebral palsy were used as samples. The study used the Pediatrics Quality of Life (PedsQL) 3.0 Cerebral Palsy Module questionnaire and secondary data on the children’s characteristcs. Research Results: A large proportion of children with cerebral palsy had a low or impaired quality of life, which was influenced by age, type of cerebral palsy, gross motor function level, functional independence level, and spasticity level. Conclusion: The quality of life of children with cerebral palsy differs in several ways. These findings can serve as a foundation for developing interventions aimed at improving their quality of life.
