Abstract

Heat stress is a condition in which high environmental temperature and humidity hinder the body’s ability to cool itself effectively, thereby increasing the risk of cardiovascular issues. This study aims to analyze the relationship between heat stress and cardiovascular risk among field workers at Company X. The research employed a cross-sectional design with a quantitative approach. Data were collected through environmental temperature measurements, interviews on fluid intake, diabetes history, smoking status, and health examinations involving 50 respondents. Data were analyzed using the chi-square test. The results showed that 19 out of 50 workers (38%) had a high cardiovascular risk. Furthermore, there was a significant relationship between heat stress (p-value 0,029; POR = 1,316, 95% CI = 0,074-0,896)) and age (p-value 0,004; POR = 1,452, 95% CI = 0,139-15,155) with cardiovascular risk. Heat stress was significantly associated with an increased cardiovascular risk among field workers at Company X. It is recommended that the company implement heat stress mitigation programs, such as regular heat stress assessments, adequate rest periods, and education on the importance of hydration.. Keywords: Cardiovascular Risk, Field Workers, Heat Stress
