Abstract
Background: Cerebral palsy is a neurological disorder that causes limitations in motor function, including gross motor function. Gross motor function is the body's ability to perform large movements involving large muscles, such as walking, running, jumping, sitting, standing, or crawling. Research Purpose: To describe the level of gross motor function in children with cerebral palsy at SLB-D YPAC Jakarta based on age, gender, type of cerebral palsy, level of functional independence, quality of life, and spasticity level. Methods: This study used a descriptive quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The GMFM instrument was employed, with a sample size of 62 children with cerebral palsy. Data were analyzed to determine the distribution of level of gross motor function based on age, gender, type of cerebral palsy, independence levels, quality of life, and spasticity level. Results: The majority of cerebral palsy children have low levels of gross motor function in the dimensions of crawling and kneeling, sitting, standing and walking, running and jumping. Functional independence and quality of life factors are significantly affected due to gross motor function. Conclusion: The level of gross motor function in children with cerebral palsy varies depending on individual factors. Early and continuous intervention is needed to increase children's independence in carrying out daily activities. Keywords: Cerebral palsy; Gross Motor; GMFM-88
