Abstract
This study analyzes the role of AIESEC in UPNVJ in supporting the achievement of SDG 4.7 in Indonesia through a participatory development approach in the EDLEVATE 2023 program. Using a descriptive qualitative method, this research relies on primary data from interviews and secondary data from literature and online sources. Referring to the Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) theory, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and Participatory Development, the findings indicate that the EDLEVATE program has integrated 70% of the competencies of Global Citizenship Education (GCED) and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) based on UNESCO's operational framework. As part of AIESEC’s global network, AIESEC in UPNVJ plays a strategic role in bridging local and global actors to support the implementation of SDG 4.7. This program involves students, local communities, and international partners to create an inclusive and globally oriented education system. However, the program faces challenges, including its relatively short duration, which limits its long-term impact, and limited engagement from local governments. Therefore, this study recommends extending the program duration and enhancing collaboration with the government and other stakeholders to strengthen AIESEC in UPNVJ’s contribution to achieving SDG 4.7 in Indonesia.
