Abstract

This study explores the role of family support in helping female accountants manage dual roles as professionals and household managers. The dual-role burden presents significant challenges, including difficulties in balancing work and personal life as well as career barriers such as the glass ceiling. A qualitative approach using interpretive phenomenological analysis was employed to understand the subjective experiences of a key informant holding the position of Head of Reporting & IFRS Finance. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the main informant, family members, and colleagues, and analyzed using data triangulation. The findings reveal that emotional and practical support from spouses, children, and the work environment significantly reduces the stress of dual roles. Family support improves psychological well-being and helps overcome structural barriers that limit career advancement. This research emphasizes the importance of work-life balance policies, including flexible working arrangements and family-friendly facilities, to enhance female representation in leadership positions. The study contributes to the literature on family support in dual-role management and expands discussions on gender equality in the accounting profession.
