Abstract

Poverty is a significant issue in Indonesia that affects various aspects of life, such as the economy, education, health, social dynamics, and politics. On the other hand, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play an important role in driving economic growth and alleviating poverty in Indonesia. However, MSMEs continue to face challenges, one of which is access to capital. Zakat, as one of the instruments of Islamic social finance, serves to redistribute wealth from the wealthy to those in need. The collection of zakat in Indonesia has shown a consistent increase annually. Productive zakat is considered an effective distribution method to address social issues, particularly poverty alleviation. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of utilizing productive zakat in foodcourt berdaya programs managed by Baitulmaal Muamalat in efforts to alleviate poverty in Jakarta. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach on the foodcourt berdaya program of Baitulmaal Muamalat. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of this study show that the food court program is effective in alleviating poverty in Jakarta. This is evidenced by the fulfillment of five key indicators: all informants demonstrated a clear understanding of the foodcourt berdaya program, the program effectively targeted the intended beneficiaries, it was implemented on schedule over a one-year period, and it successfully increased productivity and income for MSMEs.
