Abstract
FACULTY OF MEDICINE UNIVERSITY PEMBANGUNAN NASIONAL “VETERAN” JAKARTA Undergraduate Thesis, Januari 2025 FELISIA AGUSTA, No. NRP 2110211030 Psychosocial Stress Factors on Depression Tendency in Medical Students of UPN “Veteran” Jakarta Academic Stage PAGE DETAIL (xvi + 80 pages, 13 tables, 2 diagrams, 8 appendices) ABSTRACT Objective The causes of depression can come from various factors, ranging from genetic factors to psychosocial factors. Depression can occurs in a person which associated with various stressors or pressures, one of which is psychosocial stress so that this study design to identify psychosocial stress factors related to the tendency of depression in medical students at UPN "Veteran" Jakarta at the academic stage. Method Cross-sectional is the approach of a quantitive method of this research. Students of the medical study program at the National Development University "Veteran" Jakarta in the academic stage were the population in this study with a total sample of 144 respondents. Stratified random sampling is used as a sampling method, which is included in the probability sampling technique. Result The results of the bivariate analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between psychosocial stress factors and the tendency towards depression in medical students at UPN "Veteran" Jakarta at the academic stage with a p-value of 0.008 and an Odds Ratio (OR) of 14.854 (95% Confidence Interval (CI) of 3.225-68.419)). Conclusion Based on the research results, the majority of respondents did not experience depression and psychosocial stress in the low category. Students who experience psychosocial stress have a 14.9 times greater risk of experiencing depression. Reference : 72 (2019-2024) Keywords : Depression, Psychosocial stress, Students
