Abstract

This study examines the meaning of Hamoraon, Hagabeon, and Hasangapon in the management of tangible assets from the cultural perspective of the Batak Toba tribe. Tangible assets, such as land, houses, traditional ulos, and gold, possess not only economic value but also deep social, spiritual, and cultural significance in Batak Toba traditions. Using an ethnographic approach and interpretive paradigm, the research explores how the Batak Toba community in Jakarta perceives, manages, and preserves their tangible assets. The findings reveal that asset management is influenced by cultural values such as patrilineal inheritance systems, symbols of identity, and ancestral recognition. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of asset reporting that reflects local values in accounting practices.
