Abstract
The aim of the research is to describe operational management theory in the production process in a company. Qualitative research method with a study approach, data collection techniques with documentation studies. The research results show that operational management is the process of managing and utilizing resources for the benefit of the company’s work services, production is the process of producing goods or services and production is a way of utilizing existing resources to produce products that are valuable for the company, through activities production planning, by planning materials and product manufacturing processes organizing the production process and controlling the production process by reviewing work and production results. One method of increasing productivity is through controlling raw materials. In determining the effectiveness of raw materal procurement, analysis is using the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method is required. This method is a calculating technique that analyses the efficient procurement of raw materials by paying attention to the number of orders and costs incurred. The aim of this research is to analyze the costs used in raw materials for making shoes. So, the research is able to provide an alternative for minimizing costs by using the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method.
