Abstract
Traditions in various tribes in Indonesia have different diversities, one of which is the Minangkabau community or what is called the Minang community. The Minangkabau community has a very close kinship and uses a kinship system, namely matrilineal kinship, the matrilineal system is that the lineage is in the maternal line which makes the role of Ninik Mamak as Opinion Leader very important in the family. Many Minangkabau people have migrated to Jakarta. The study entitled "Communication Patterns of Minangkabau Migrant Community Groups in Jakarta", the theoretical basis used in this study is the theory of functional group communication, this study uses a constructivist paradigm. The method used in this study uses a qualitative research method and a phenomenological approach, the data collection technique used is a semi-structured interview. The results of this study are the group communication patterns used in the Minangkabau migrant community using the wheel type of communication pattern and the role of Ninik Mamak as Opinion Leader in the Minangkabau migrant community group in Jakarta is still carried out.
