Abstract
In 2013, the prevalence of schizophrenia with type 2 diabetes mellitus (Type 2 DM) was estimated to be 2 to 3 times higher than in the general population, with rates reaching 10% to 15%. The use of a combination of antidiabetic and antipsychotic therapy can result in clinical outcomes and cause drug-related problems (DRPs), such as drug interactions and adverse drug reactions (ROTD). This condition can hinder the patient's achievement of therapy targets, for example resulting in uncontrolled blood glucose levels and an increase in length of stay (LOS). This study aims to examine the relationship between DRPs in the ROTD category and the interaction of antidiabetic and antipsychotic drugs on blood glucose levels and LOS in schizophrenia inpatients with comorbid type 2 DM at RSJ dr. H. Marzoeki Mahdi Bogor. Analysis of the relationship between DRPs and blood glucose levels and LOS was carried out using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that in the drug interaction category in DRPs, there were 90.5% actual drug interactions and 70.4% potential drug interactions. The research results showed that no ROTD was found. analysis between DPR categories of drug interactions with blood glucose levels and LOS, there was no significant relationship between actual drug interactions with blood glucose levels (p > 0.05) and there was no significant relationship between actual antidiabetic and antipsychotic drug interactions with LOS
