Abstract

Kata kunci: Irritable Bowel Syndrome, , Resiliensi Stres, Sindrom Iritasi Usus Abstract: Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a long-term functional gastrointestinal disorder that causes abdominal pain, distension, and disturbance of defecation pattern and texture without organic disorders, and is often associated with psychological stress. Through communication between the gut-brain axis, stress influences gastrointestinal problems. The greatest stress experienced by medical students may come from academic demands that exceed the student's abilities. Methods: This research is a descriptive study with a cross-sectional approach on 30, level 3 and 4 students of FK UPN "Veteran" Jakarta in 2023. The data obtained was analyzed using statistical tests using the chi-square test method. Results: The research results showed that the majority of IBS sufferers were female (43.3%) with the highest student level being level 3 (30%). The results of statistical tests using the chi-square test method obtained P Value = 0.002. Conclusion: that H0 is rejected and there is a relationship between the level of stress resilience and the incidence of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) in students at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Jakarta in 2023. Keywords: Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Medical Student, Stress Resilience
