Abstract
The election represents the highest contestation in democracy, attracting many individuals and groups to participate in the competitive electoral stage. This study aims to understand the factual verification process for new political parties in meeting the requirements to become election participants, based on a case study of the Ummat Party in the 2024 election. The research employs a qualitative method, using structured interviews and literature review for data collection. The study applies theories including Alfi Syahri's political communication strategy, Jacques Ellul's propaganda theory, the SIPABIO conflict resolution mapping method by Amr Abdalla, and Maswadi Rauf's concept of conflict sources. The findings from the case study of the Ummat Party's factual verification in the 2024 election reveal the party's success in using political propaganda strategies by highlighting fraud issues to the public to maintain its candidacy by appealing to the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) to remain a participant in the 2024 election. Additionally, this research explains the conflicts related to the Ummat Party's factual verification issues using the SIPABIO method and analyzes the sources of conflict in the verification process conducted by the General Elections Commission (KPU) as a requirement to become an election participant.
