Abstract

The documentary entitled ‘Simalakama Homo Jakartensis: Polusi Udara Megapolitan’ will explore the impact of dirty air pollution in Jakarta through the perspective of the people of the capital city. Through the Free Cinema approach that combines narrative and cinematic aspects, this film presents the voices of the speakers who are directly affected, namely representations of students, street vendors, and office workers to open the public's eyes to the challenges and struggles being carried out. The bitter stories of the interviewees in describing the impact of air pollution in Jakarta open up insights into the interconnectedness of social and environmental issues, triggering exploratory content about the construction of the reality of life in this crowded and polluted city. The film not only illustrates the complexity of the air pollution problem, but also invites the public to act, raise awareness, and support changes towards a cleaner and healthier environment from the perspective of environmental observers. The creation design of this documentary film positions the work of the producer and scriptwriter. A producer is a person who leads in the process of creating a movie. Pengkarya acts as a producer who has the responsibility to organize and oversee the process of creating a documentary film from the beginning until the film is finished. In addition, the producer is also responsible for the success of a documentary film, both in terms of creative, financial and distribution. In addition, the author as a scriptwriter is someone who has an important position in compiling research, narratives, and scripts used in this documentary film.
