Abstract
The incidence of obesity is one of the nutritional problems in Indonesia that receives less special attention from the government than the problem of malnutrition. A factor that has an important role in the incidence of obesity in children is physical activity. With the advancement of technology, children are increasingly passive and have a sedentary lifestyle, which means they will spend more time on television, gadgets, or computers. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between physical activity and the incidence of obesity in elementary school children at SD Negeri Limo 01 Depok. This study used a cross sectional approach. Sampling using probability sampling technique, namely stratified sampling with the results of 180 samples from a total population of 279. Data were obtained from the results of filling out the PAQ-C questionnaire and anthropometric measurements. The results showed that there was a relationship between physical activity and the incidence of obesity with a p value <0.001. It is expected that parents and students are expected to spend more time doing physical activity activities to avoid obesity.
