Abstract
People with disabilities are one of the layers of society that often experience discrimination, including political contestations such as regional elections. It should be the responsibility of the government to ensure comprehensive participation for persons with disabilities. Therefore, this study seeks to examine how the efforts of the General Election Commission of Depok city in increasing political participation of people with disabilities in the city of Depok in the 2020 regional elections during the COVID-19 pandemic. The General Elections Commission as one of the agents of domestic democracy is required to be able to create maximum public participation even in conditions of very significant social changes during the Covid-19 pandemic. Data sources in this study will be sourced from literature and interviews with parties who are considered experts and have great relevance to the research topic. Based on the results of research that has been conducted, the efforts made by the General Election Commission of Depok city as the party that has the responsibility in ensuring the participation of people with disabilities in the city of Depok in the implementation of the 2020 regional elections are encouragement to lower-level organizers and also socialization efforts both in person and virtually or online due to the Covid-19 pandemic conditions that are currently spreading.
