Abstract
This research aims to determine the role of the Nihongo Mantappu YouTube channel in promote Japanese tourism, especially post-Covid-19 pandemic through the six Waseda Boys Japan Trip vlogs in collaborating with the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO). This research uses theories of international cooperation, new public diplomacy, and international tourism. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research method with primary and secondary data sources. This research found that this cooperation fulfills the aspects of new public diplomacy in the dimensions of relations and culture. The Nihongo Mantappu YouTube channel acts as an instrument and tool that fulfills three dimensions, (1) agenda setting, (2) presence-expansion, and (3) conversation-generating in reaching the Indonesian public. The new public diplomacy efforts through the six Waseda Boys vlogs were carried out informally and were successful in achieving the set goals; promoting and increasing the interest of the Indonesian public in Japanese tourism.
