Abstract

Indonesia, as the largest archipelagic country in Southeast Asia, faces significant challenges in environmental management and industrial data reporting spread across its territories. The SIMPEL application, developed by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, aims to facilitate electronic reporting and enhance the transparency and accountability of industries in environmental management. However, inaccurate company coordinates on geospatial maps pose a major obstacle in analyzing company data. This research aims to improve the accuracy of company coordinates in the SIMPEL application using Leaflet JS, an open-source library for interactive maps. The implementation of Leaflet JS features includes marker placement, geolocation, and geocoding, along with the administrative boundaries of Indonesia. Spatial data is processed and validated using the raycasting algorithm and stored in GeoJSON format to ensure optimal performance. Testing results show that using Leaflet JS increases the accuracy and efficiency of mapping company locations. These findings are expected to support the improvement of geospatial mapping quality and the sustainability of the SIMPEL application.
