Abstract

Quality of Service (QoS) is a measurement method of how well a network performs. SDN technology was chosen for this simulation because SDN utilizes the OpenFlow protocol standard to enable communication with a device. SDN can assist in creating and introducing networks, simplifying network management, and facilitating network changes. Within SDN, there are various types of controllers used to manage the flow of packets from servers to clients and vice versa. RYU and Opendaylight are examples of different types of controller services available. This testing uses Mininet with the OpenFlow protocol, demonstrating that the RYU controller excels in delay and jitter metrics due to its low latency. Conversely, although the difference is not significant, the Opendaylight controller excels in bandwidth and throughput measurements. With different functions and utilities, Users are inclined to choose a controller that aligns with their preferences and required functionalities.
