Abstract
The positive achievements obtained by Indonesia in the halal food sector reflect that Indonesia is preparing to implement a mandatory halal program on October 17, 2024, by focusing on providing halal-certified products. However, behind this achievement is the reality of issuing halal certificates in the Jabodetabek area, which has yet to contribute significantly to national achievements, at only 6.05%. Thus, this study analyzes the determinants of interest in applying for halal certification of culinary MSEs in Jabodetabek. This study uses the descriptive quantitative approach method combined with Partial Least Square (PLS) data analysis techniques to obtain credible research results. Then, this study uses questionnaire data collection techniques distributed through social media to obtain primary data sources. The research results showed that religiosity has no effect on submission interest because halal certification is only considered legality, which has no implications for acquiring rewards or sins. As for social media marketing and word of mouth affecting submission interest, these results indicate that both have an essential role in stimulating culinary MSEs' interest in applying for halal certification. Thus, these two aspects need to be consistently improved in their implementation to impact the achievement of halal certification positively.
