Abstract

Komisi Pemilihan Umum (KPU) intends tto abolish Laporan Pemberi Sumbangan Dana Kampanye (LPSDK) because it's deemed not to be explicitly regulated in the Election Law. This has drawn criticism from political observers. This researcha aims to analyze the impact of eliminating LPSDK on transparency, accountability, mechanisms, and law enforcement of campaign finance violations. The research uses normative juridical methods. The findings revealed that the elimination of LPSDK has compromised the implementation of transparency and accountability in election campaign financing. Although various regulations within election law govern campaign finance violations, if a violation falls under another regulatory framework, it is not considered an election offense, and its handling is delegated to the competent authority. Therefore, it's necessary to improve election law to maximize transparency and accountability, ensuring clear and firm law enforcement against campaign finance violations. This is expected to establish legal certainty and facilitate fair and clean elections.
