Abstract
Stroke, defined as an interruption of blood flow to the brain that can cause sudden focal or global neurological deficits within 24 hours or more that can lead to death, is the leading cause of disability worldwide and the second leading cause of death. The lifetime risk of stroke has also increased by 50% over the past 17 years, meaning 1 in 4 people are expected to experience a stroke in their lifetime. In Indonesia alone stroke has contributed to 21.12% of deaths or a total of 357,183 people. The impact of stroke that is not properly treated and rehabilitated will cause sufferers to experience reduced ADL (80%), mobility problems (90%), and spasticity or contractures (48%). Therefore, stroke requires special attention with proper management so that adverse effects can be avoided. One of the physical rehabilitation treatments is PNF Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation, which has been proven effective in various studies to improve range of motion and muscle strength and endurance. PNF is important to be empowered to patients after chronic stroke. This study aims to analyze nursing care in post-stroke patients with PNF interventions to increase joint range of motion and muscle strength. The results of the study state that there is an increase in the range of muscle movement and muscle strength in both patients, both main and resume management. Where both after being given the intervention can move actively, there is an increase in ADL in wearing clothes and meeting bathing needs, as well as a decrease in pain levels.
