Abstract
Background: Hypertension is an increase of up to 140 mmHg for systolic and 90 mmHg for diastolic blood pressure. Riskesdas data in 2018 showed that the prevalence of hypertension was 25.8%, Indonesia had a higher prevalence of hypertension, namely 34.1%. Hypertension has many different symptoms, including headaches or a feeling of heaviness in the nape of the neck, vertigo, heart palpitations, feeling tired easily, blurred vision, ringing in the hearing (tinnitus), and bleeding in the nose. Following a regular diet, especially reducing foods high in salt and fat, consuming foods high in fiber, and exercising can normalize high blood pressure. An efficient non-pharmacological method to change and regulate blood pressure is the hypertension diet. Research Method: Case study related to medical surgical nursing which focuses on hypertension cases in Cipayung Village, East Jakarta. The method applied is a nursing system which includes anamnesis, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing. Results: The nursing problems that occurred in the case were: Acute pain, disturbed sleep patterns, and knowledge deficit. Conclusion: Low salt diet education given to patients with knowledge deficit nursing problems provides good changes in the patient's eating patterns.
