Abstract
Sleep disorders that commonly occur in patients in the ICU can be caused by anxiety, pain, night actions and difficulty adapting to the ICU environment so that it can affect sleep quality which plays an important role in the recovery process. The combination of foot massage and music therapy will provide stimulus to the senses of touch and hearing so as to create a feeling of relaxation that can improve sleep quality. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference in sleep quality scores before and after the intervention. The research subjects were managed patients and resumes who had sleep disorder problems and were given foot massage and music therapy interventions for three consecutive days before bedtime. Measurement of sleep quality using the Richard Campbell Sleep Questionnaire (RCSQ) instrument and sleep tracker application. The results of the case study showed an improvement in sleep quality in managed patients after being given the intervention, which was originally an RCSQ score of 41.6 with an interpretation of poor sleep to 61.6 (good sleep) and a score on the sleep tracker application of 84 (very good sleep quality). Meanwhile, the patient's resume obtained an initial RCSQ score of 43.3 (poor sleep) increased to 66.6 (good sleep) and a score on the application of 86 (very good sleep quality). It is hoped that the application of combined foot massage and music therapy interventions can be used as a complementary therapy to improve sleep quality in patients in the ICU room.
