Abstract

Schizophrenia is a mental illness that can cause abnormalities in the brain of sufferers, causing certain symptoms such as hallucinations, delusions, cognitive changes and mood swings. Patients who experience schizophrenia can experience changes in behavior, one of which is the risk of violent behavior. This scientific paper provides an overview of nursing care for Mrs.A with the main problem of risk of violent behavior at Dr. Soeharto Heerdjan Mental Hospital, West Jakarta. The research method used in this scientific paper is descriptive research with a case study approach. In conducting an assessment of the client, predisposing factors, precipitating factors, signs and symptoms, and coping mechanisms in the client are obtained. Furthermore, three nursing problems were found in the client so that the nursing diagnoses raised were Risk of Violent Behavior, Chronic Low Self Esteem, and Violent Behavior. Nursing interventions provided based on priority diagnoses are Risk of Violent Behavior as the main problem, Chronic Low Self Esteem, and Violent Behavior. Based on the results of the nursing evaluation of the client, it was found that the problem was resolved and control over self could increase. Implementation is based on the strategy of implementing nursing actions to improve self-control and self-esteem in clients.
