Abstract
Background: Pulmonary tuberculosis is a chronic infection that usually affects the lungs caused by Mycobacterium Tuberculosis. This bacterial is transmitted by droplet nuclei, airborne droplets produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes, talks. Objective: This study aims to analyze and describe the nursing care provided to Pulmonary Tuberculosis patients with Ineffective Airway Clearance problems at Tarakan Hospital by assessing and analyzing data by determining nursing diagnoses, nursing interventions, nursing implementation, nursing evaluation, and documenting the entire process has been carried out. Method: This research method uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data is collected through direct observation, interviews, and analysis of patient medical record documentation to implement nursing care. Results: The results showed that in patients pulmonary tuberculosis was caused by Mycobacterium Tuberculosis. The primary nursing diagnosis is ineffective airway clearance. Nursing intervention is teaching effective coughing exercises. Within 3 x 24 hours the problem of ineffective airway clearance was completely resolved with the criteria of increased effective coughing, decreased phlegm output, reduced rales, decreased shortness of breath, improved respiratory frequency, improved breathing patterns.
