Abstract

Background: The aim of this research is to provide an overview of nursing care for Mr. R with sensory perception disorders, auditory and visual hallucinations in the Cassowary Room at Dr. Mental Hospital. Soeharto Heerdjan Jakarta. Research Method: The design used in this research uses a descriptive research design using a case study approach method. Results: The results obtained from this study were that there were predisposing factors, precipitation, signs and symptoms, sources of coping and coping mechanisms. Predisposing factors found in Mr. R stated that there were biological factors, namely that the patient had previously experienced mental disorders in 2022 and was treated at the Marzoeki Mahdi Bogor Hospital, but the patient had stopped taking medication for 1.5 years. The patient's long interruption of treatment is a prepositional factor, the patient only takes medication when he remembers. Patient Mr. R experienced hallucinations which were characterized by the patient being alone and often smiling to himself. Interventions in the diagnosis of Mr. R is adjusted and determined from three diagnoses, namely, hallucination management, isolation, and risk intervention. Apart from that, an intrapersonal approach is carried out with therapeutic communication with patients in a comfortable environment. Conclusion: In carrying out the nursing care process for Mr. R with the nursing problem of sensory perception disorders: auditory and visual hallucinations, the author uses several stages which include assessment stages, nursing diagnoses, nursing interventions, nursing implementation, and nursing evaluation.
