Abstract

This research aims to delve into the aspects of nursing care provided to a child suffering from acute bronchitis in a pediatric ward of a hospital in Depok City. Employing a qualitative method focusing on case study techniques, the study gathered data through various approaches, including interviews, health examinations, observations, and bronchitis case analyses. Over three days of care, three nursing diagnoses were established and evaluated to achieve optimal management. Data analysis revealed that two out of three nursing diagnoses, namely Ineffective Airway Clearance and Hyperthermia, were successfully addressed during the care period. However, the third diagnosis, Nutritional Deficit, was only partially resolved. Nonetheless, the research demonstrates success in providing effective nursing care for children with acute bronchitis. Discrepancies between the nursing interventions in the specific case and recommendations in the literature were noted. Nevertheless, the findings offer a clear insight into the effectiveness of nursing care for acute bronchitis in children. One challenge encountered was the absence of weight measurement during the care period, which is a critical factor in monitoring the child's health status.
