Abstract
Background: Pulmonary tuberculosis is a disease of the respiratory system whose main cause is mycobacterium tuberculosis. This bacterium enters the respiratory tract in the form of droplets and then infects the respiratory tract, especially the lungs, which causes excessive secretion production which accelerates the upper respiratory tract. Method: Case study related to surgical medical treatment that focuses on pulmonary tuberculosis cases in the Alamanda Room, Khidmat Sehat Afiat Hospital, Depok. The method applied is a murder system which includes anamnesis, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of murder. Results: The nursing problems that occurred in the case were: Ineffective airway clearance related to retained secretions, acute pain related to physiological injurious agents and nutritional deficits related to increased metabolic needs. Conclusion: The effective implementation of cough exercises provided to pulmonary tuberculosis patients with ineffective airway clearance issues can significantly impact the clearance of retained sputum, despite the gradual nature of the clearance process.
