Abstract
Chronic renal failure is an irreversible kidney disorder with a decrease in the glomerular filtration rate. Hemodialysis is a kidney replacement therapy for patients with end-stage chronic kidney failure or End Stage Renal Disease. Chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis have complaints, one of which is fatigue, this is caused by an electrolyte imbalance and unstable urea levels in the body. Therefore, chronic kidney failure patients who are undergoing hemodialysis will be given hand and foot massage therapy. The aim of the nursing care provided is to determine the effectiveness of non-pharmacological hand and foot massage therapy in reducing fatigue levels in chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis at the Gatot Soebroto RSPAD Hemodialysis Unit. The instrument used to measure the level of fatigue is the Visual Analogue Scale Fatigue. The results obtained during 6 meetings showed that patients were managed from experiencing severe fatigue (8.2) to moderate fatigue (4.4) and the level of fatigue of patients resumed experiencing moderate fatigue (6.5) to moderate fatigue (4.5). In this study, it was concluded that hand and foot massage was effective in reducing fatigue levels in chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis
