Abstract

Acute pain is one of the conditions experienced by mothers after cesarean section due to an incision in the abdomen. There are 2 types of therapy used to treat pain after cesarean section, namely pharmacological and non-pharmacological. Auricular acupressure is one of the non-pharmacological therapies to overcome pain after cesarean section. The purpose of providing this nursing care is to determine the effectiveness of acupressure auriculars in reducing pain after cesarean section. The pain scale measuring uses the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) scale. The implementation is carried out in patients managed by pressing nerve points, namely the uterus, shen men, pelvic, abdomen, point zero, and master endocrine. Meanwhile, in control patients, this therapy is not carried out. The results of this acupressure auricular intervention found that the intervention patients experienced a more significant reduction in pain compared to the control patients, namely for the intervention patients the pain decreased from 8.26 to 5.14, while the control patients decreased from 8.31 to 6.56. There was another finding obtained, namely the difference in the first walking time of these two patients. In intervention patients, patients can walk 18 hours after cesarean section while in control patients, patients can walk 23 hours after cesarean section.
