Abstract
Information about lecturers and students is important information within the UPNVJ Faculty of Computer Science. However, this information does not yet exist, so a lecturer and student information service is needed so that this information can be stored, updated, maintained, and accessed in one system. APIs make it possible to create integrated information services in one system and can be used in various applications. In building the API, the Spring Boot framework was chosen because it provides various ready-to-use tools and configurations that can speed up API development. This research aims to design a RESTful API that can provide access to information services related to lecturers and students at the UPNVJ Faculty of Computer Science, test the API to ensure the API runs according to the expected results, and create API documentation that is clear and easy to understand. The benefits that can be obtained are that users can use the API to access information related to lecturers and students at the UPNVJ Faculty of Computer Science and create mobile, web, or desktop applications, providing an understanding of RESTful API development using the Spring Boot framework so that it can become a basis for further research. This research consists of several stages, namely problem identification, literature study, API design, API testing, and API documentation. This research succeeded in designing a RESTful API with the Spring Boot framework for information services for lecturers and students at the UPNVJ Faculty of Computer Science. API testing was carried out using the black box testing method using the Postman application with a total of 112 tests and obtained results of 100%. Documentation is created using the springdoc-openapi library which produces Swagger UI for viewing API documentation interactively.
