Abstract

Organic waste is produced by living creatures such as humans, animals and plants. So it is necessary to process waste so that it can decompose optimally so that it can have a positive impact, one of which is bioconversion. Bioconversion is a process that utilizes microorganisms such as fungi, yeast, bacteria and larvae to convert organic waste into high quality products. Apart from that, organic waste processing aims to create a clean environment in order to create a sustainable environment. The aim of this research is that maggot cultivation can be a major step in reducing organic waste. The method used consists of 3 stages, namely socialization, program implementation and community evaluation, as well as processing data from pre-test and post-test results as knowledge development. The results obtained were that the socialization carried out had many people enthusiastic about maggot cultivation, then people were also interested in cultivation because it could reduce organic waste and increase household income. Furthermore, based on the results of community evaluations, it shows that there has been an increase in community knowledge regarding maggot cultivation and organic waste processing, namely 39.58%. This shows that the activities carried out can create a clean environment in order to create sustainable development and improve human and environmental relations
