Abstract

Interdependence and dedication to others are the principles of sociality that underlie relationships within society. Adam Smith stated that humans are the main production factor determining a nation's prosperity. Division of labor and specialization contribute to the well-being of society. Population growth leads to unemployment issues. Increasing workforce absorption is necessary, including through placing workers abroad. Indonesian workers overseas contribute economically and offer solutions to unemployment. However, issues of rights violations and exploitation of migrant workers exist. The Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IA-CEPA) aims to strengthen economic cooperation. Despite potential benefits, challenges regarding migrant worker rights and cultural differences remain. Bilateral cooperation is crucial to safeguard migrant worker rights. The impact of IA-CEPA on the protection of Indonesian migrant worker rights in Australia requires further research.
