Abstract
The political decentralization policy during the Reformation era made political parties the main factor in determining leadership at the local level. This is what causes one political party to dominate at the local level. The Prosperous Justice Party has been the party that has dominated the city of Depok for 20 years. PKS continues to win in the Depok Regional Head Election. PKS is one of the many parties that has a mass base with a high number of permanent supporters in Depok City. This research aims to find out how dominant PKS is in Depok City for the 2010-2020 period. Using the main theory of Hegemony. This research uses qualitative research methods with primary and secondary data sources. Data collection techniques, interviews and literature studies in the form of books, news and previous research journals that are relevant to this research. The research results obtained by PKS as a party with an Islamic ideology maintain its dominance in Depok City by utilizing religious identity as a basis for mobilizing its political influence. PKS uses a political strategy by increasing cadres, holding community activities, through its political identity, and transforming into an open party with the aim of expanding its voter base and maintaining a strong foundation for its dominance in Depok City. However, the dominance of power does not necessarily mean that society feels a positive impact or experiences prosperity from the existing leadership. However, the opportunity for policy change is still open if PKS really has a positive impact on society.
