Abstract
Pulmonary tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. House physical condition can increase the risk of pulmonary tuberculosis infections among people residing in East Jakarta, including in Jatinegara District. This study was quantitative research with a cross-sectional study design. By using the Lemeshow formula, a total of 113 people were recruited as research samples. Data were analysed by using the Chi-Square test. Instruments used in this study were a personal data questionnaire and a healthy housing questionnaire issued by the Ministry of Health which was modified. The results show ventilation area (p = 0.000), ventilation flow rate (p = 0.049), lighting (p = 0.001), trash bin avability (p = 0.004) and spatial layout (p = 0.003) have a significant relationship with the incidence of Pulmonary TB that occurs in Jatinegara district of East Jakarta. Individual factors such as age group (p = 0.000) and sex (p = 0.000) also have a relationship with the incidence of Pulmonary TB in Jatinegara area, East Jakarta. It is recommended that people open closed vents to facilitate the rate of air exchange and natural light entering the house
