Abstract

During the current ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), Indonesia must be ready to face competition with other countries both in terms of knowledge and financial capabilities. The people of DKI Jakarta have the highest level of investment realization in Indonesia and are dominated by people who have high incomes so they have great potential in making investments, one of which is stock investment. However, it is known that Indonesian people prefer to invest in mutual funds compared to shares. The aim of this research is to analyze the influence of income, financial literacy and risk on interest in investing in shares in DKI Jakarta. This research method is a quantitative descriptive approach, with primary data sources. The data collection technique in this research was by distributing questionnaires to the people of DKI Jakarta with a sample size of 60 respondents. Data analysis using PLS with the SmartPLS application, by testing data using inner and outer models. The results obtained from this research are 1) the income variable has a significant influence on interest in investing in shares in DKI Jakarta 2) the financial literacy variable has a significant influence on interest in investing in shares in DKI Jakarta 3) the risk variable has a significant influence on interest in investing in shares in DKI Jakarta.
