Abstract

Income distribution inequality is a problem that often occurs in regions in Indonesia, such as in the province of Banten. Infrastructure development in the province of Banten does not necessarily occur in all regencies/cities, so the economic growth rate is not in balance with the distribution of income. This study aims to determine the influence of economic growth, poverty, and unemployment rates on income inequality. The data in this study are secondary data obtained through the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of the province of Banten using a sample of 8 regencies/cities in the province of Banten in 2012-2021. This study uses panel data regression analysis with the program used, namely Eviews-12. The results of the study show that the economic growth variable has a negative and significant effect on income inequality. Then, poverty has a positive and significant effect on income inequality, while the unemployment rate has a positive but insignificant effect on income inequality in 8 regencies/cities in the province of Banten. Keywords: Income Inequality, Economic Growth, Poverty, Unemployment Rate.
