Abstract

This research examines the factors that influence the capital structure of companies in the food and beverage sub-sector and transportation services sub-sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) during the 2020-2022 period. The research also examines the comparison of the capital structure of food and beverage companies with transportation services during the 2020-2022 period. The sample selection technique used a purposive sampling method, selecting samples from 25 food and beverage sub-sector companies resulting in 15 companies being accepted. Then from 36 companies in the Transportation Services sub-sector, 15 companies were accepted. Data analysis was carried out using Microsoft Excel, hypothesis testing used multiple linear regression analysis and different tests used independent sample t-test with the SPSS 23 program with a significance level of 5%. The test results showed that the profitability variable had a negatif effect on the capital structure of food and beverage and transportation services companies. Next, the sales growth variable has no effect on the capital structure of food and beverage and transportation services companies. For food and beverage companies, company size has no influence on capital structure. However, in contrast to transportation service companies, the company size variable has a positive influence on capital structure. The research results also show that there are significant differences in capital structure between food and beverage companies and transportation services.
