Abstract

Regional economic growth represents the state of the local economy, better economic growth is interpreted as an indication of greater welfare for the local population, and is also anticipated to continue to increase to support further economic growth. This study aims to see the effect of poverty, human development index and unemployment on the economic growth of regencies / cities in Gorontalo Province. This study uses secondary data and quantitative descriptive research using panel data from 2012-2021 obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics of Gorontalo Province. The results of this study reveal that (1) the number of poor people has no significant positive effect on the economic growth of districts / cities in Gorontalo Province, (2) the human development index has a significant positive effect on the economic growth of districts / cities in Gorontalo Province, and (3) the open unemployment rate has no significant positive effect on the economic growth of districts / cities in Gorontalo Province.
