Abstract

This research aims to find out about Indonesia's role in the Group of Twenty (G20) multilateral cooperation forum as the holder of the Presidency for the 2021-2022 period by carrying out several priority issues, one of which is regarding digital transformation. The rapid development of the digitalization sector is a crucial consideration for Indonesia to choose the issue of digital transformation as one of the most important issues to be discussed at the G20 event in Indonesia. In digital transformation, the digital economy is a spotlight issue because the main goal of the Indonesian Presidency at the G20 forum is an inclusive and sustainable economic recovery. There is an urgency that needs to be discussed in the digital economy agenda related to the issue of digital connectivity as a catalyst for Indonesia's economic growth. Using a descriptive qualitative research method, this study aims to analyze Indonesia's role in the G20 forum in developing a digital economy agenda on digital connectivity issues. This study also uses the theory of multilateral cooperation, the theory of the role of international organizations, the concept of digital economy, and the concept of digital connectivity as a basis for analysis. The result of this research is that Indonesia's role in the G20 forum is very large and important in the development of the digital economy. Indonesia managed to reach an agreement and produce the Bali Declaration. It is hoped that a number of achievements gained from the G20 Indonesia Presidency event will provide real benefits for the people of Indonesia and the world.
