Abstract
An issue that is still hot today and has resulted in the decline of students and several elements of society from holding demonstrations is the issue of the plan to postpone the election and extend the term of office of the President. Continuous reporting related to the discourse on postponing the election and extending the term of office of the President has led to widespread responses from the public, including students. The purpose of this study was to determine the magnitude of the influence of the news of the planned postponement of the election and the extension of the President's term on Twitter on student demonstrations. The type of research used in this research is a quantitative type of research. The results of this study: Based on the t-test, it is known that the t-count value of the variable on News about Postponement of Elections is 6.74 with Sig 0.000. Because the t count of the variable on Reporting on Election Delays is greater than t table and the significant level of the variable on Reporting on Election Delays is less than 0.05, it can be concluded that the variable of News on Postponement of Elections has an effect on Student Demonstration Actions; Based on the t-test, it is known that the t-count value of the variable on the Extension of the Presidential Office is 2.534 with a Sig of 0.013. Because the t count variable for Reporting on the Extension of the Presidential Office is greater than t table and the significant level of the variable for Reporting on the Extension of the Presidential Office is less than 0.05, it can be concluded that the variable for Reporting on the Extension of the Presidential Office on Student Demonstrations; Based on the R Square test, it can be seen that the R Square value is 0,
