Abstract

Fire is an unwanted and uncontrollable incident of flame that is detrimental. Central Java Province had a total of 2,179 cases of fire disasters (2019) and some of them occurred in the food industry. One of them is Company Z which utilizes various kinds of resources that operates non-stop and there was a fire case in 2021. The purpose of the study is to analyze the emergency response system at the Company Z, including fire fighting management, active and passive fire protection, and fire rescue facilities. The method used is qualitative with observation and interview. The result showed that wafer production building of Company Z is high potential for a fire disaster because it uses CNG fuel, WS engine, has 827 workers, and the area is enclosed. The Wafer Division has an ERT (Emergency Response Team) who understands the procedure and regularly trained. The suitability average of the active protection system is 57,8%; the passive protection system is 96,4%; and the fire rescue facilities is 78,9%. The advice given is to involve certain parties in evaluating procedure, providing and testing protection systems, evaluating fire rescue facilities, and conducting training by simulating actual emergency situation.
