Abstract

Adolescence is a very important period because it is a transition period between children and adults. Fulfillment of nutrition and the formation of good eating habits are important factors that affect the health and quality of life of adolescents. The provision of nutrition education is one of the efforts to introduce balanced nutrition so that the messages contained in it can be a guide in the application of good nutrition. This study was conducted to determine the effect of nutrition education through a combination of lecture methods and interactive games on the knowledge and attitudes of balanced nutrition in SMKN 2 Bogor. The method used in this research is Quasi Experimental with one group pre-test post-test design. The subjects of the study were 40 people who were divided into 2 groups, namely the intervention and control groups. Data analysis includes univariate analysis, bivariate analysis using the Wilcoxon test and the Mann-Whitney test. The results showed that there was an effect of nutrition education using a combination of lecture methods and interactive games on knowledge of balanced nutrition (p-value <0.05). the value of balanced nutrition knowledge in the intervention group was higher than the control group (p-value <0.05) so it can be concluded that the provision of nutrition education using a combination of lecture methods and interactive games is effective in increasing knowledge of balanced nutrition for students of SMKN 2 Bogor.
