Abstract

The library at SMAN 4 Cibinong still uses a manual way of managing data on book borrowing, data on late return of books, as well as reports every week or month on borrowing and returning books. As for making library membership cards that still use printed cards, it costs a lot. As for the books that were lost and did not return when borrowed by students. However, because the book data storage media and students are still using the parent book, then there is often damage such as torn, lost, and so forth. If the above things happen continuously, it will certainly affect the quality of service available at the library. Based on the problems that occur, it takes a website-based library information system with the use of QR Code that will be able to overcome the problems and weaknesses that occur when using the existing manual system today. This research uses SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) method with the Waterfall development model and PIECES method. Then, it was designed using UML (Unified Modeling Language) and built using the CodeIgniter framework with MySQL as its database. The results of this study are the application of a website-based library information system with the use of a QR Code that handles the field of services, namely member registration, book lending, book returns, extending the period of book lending, read on the spot, book search, and book catalog. In addition, it can handle the processing of book data and reports. The use of QR codes here is only applied in the process of book lending transactions.
